I spent NBA All Star weekend at the Aloft Hotel in Houston, TX. No reason really, just wanted to get out of town for a few days. And so I did.

Some guy in a Huey & Earl shirt kept taking pictures of me. The room would have been nice had it not been for that.

I hit up the Galleria Mall to go to the House of Hoops. Foot Locker’s House of Hoops stores are home to all the hard to get Nikes and Jordans as well as Player Edition Exclusives that would normally never see a retail shelf.

All those Kobe and Lebron puppet commercials wore me down into picking up a pair of Kobe V’s. I’ve seen so much advertising for this shoe that I was left with no choice.

Kobe ended up sitting out the all star game with injuries but had he played he would have been laced up in the above. It’s seriously the lightest shoe I’ve ever felt.

Final thought….. the Dunk Contest sucks again!

This special night has been assembled to mark the launch of the Hot Garbage brand. The company consists of two members who collect materials from various junkyards and bicycle shops around the Baton Rouge area and cut and sew them to create unique limited edition messenger bags. If you look around at what’s happening in sports right now you see the Yankees winning the World Series or my boy Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl and the New Orleans Orleans Saints sticking it to everybody in the league.
But the best thing going in my eyes is the wonderful world of the NBA.

I made it out to the Hornets vs Mavericks wednesday night and definitely got my money worth. The game was tight from the 2nd quarter on and it looked like the Mavs had it with only seconds left. then Peja hit a three at the buzzer to send it into overtime. Then CP3 took over from there and the Hornets won.

Seeing a shot at the buzzer go in to tie the game on tv is cool and all but seeing the whole stadium leap in the air at the same time was way sicker.
Best of luck to the Hornets in the 2009-2010 season. And if your in Louisiana, show your support and go out to a game this year.
