SHENANIGANS

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Recently Katie Couric interviewed Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin on CBS and really cornered her with some tough questions.

In the opening SNL skit saturday night, Tina Fey gave a flawless impersonation of Sarah Palin in this interview as Amy Pohler played the part of Couric.

Please watch below and then move to the next vid for clips from the real Katie Couric x Sarah Palin interview. That’s right it, was a collabo.

It’s almost like she has never spoken to John McCain and knows nothing about their campaign, as she states the obvious and talks in circles.

Suddenly the Vice Presidential Debates look to be very interesting. Well, if watching someone getting drilled with questions they can’t answer is your form of entertainment.

You sick bastard.

Joe Biden x Sarah Palin debates are scheduled for October 2nd. Yup, that ones a collabo too.

The biggest election of our time is coming to a close and we will soon have a new President. Have you made your decision? Tonight’s Presidential debates may help coax you one way or another.

Or maybe these pics will make up your mind…

Why vote for Obama? Oh I don’t know, maybe cause he’s Super Badass!

Most people don’t know this. Pointing your finger at John McCain will cause him to turn into the Hulk.

Let’s face it, no matter who wins, things are likely gonna get a whole lot worse before they get any better.

BASKETBALL = GOOOOOD

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

There was a DC commercial from 2005 that popped in my head today. You may remember, it had Rob Dyrdek, Colin Mckay, and other team riders playing ball and sinking a bunch of off the wall (literally) shots.

No particular product being sold really. Those make for the best commercials because it removes the boundaries and allows a artist to create freely.

Drifting further into dream land, I started thinking about other really dope commercials from over the years.

The Nike Freestyle Commercial may be the best ad ever. Once again, product placement, an after thought.

Alright, one more…

Apparently when a basketball or sneakers are involved I can be convinced that anything is cool.

Front Street : New York

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

This past weekend 1/2 of Huey & Earl headed up to New York. There was the business:business to attend to, such as meeting with some new designers and discussions with possible distributors, and then there was the fun:business. The latter involved catching up with friends, eating some good Vietnamese food and hitting up the shops. We’re all familiar with the murder’s row of NYC sneaker and clothing boutiques: Dave’s Quality Meat, Supreme, ALIFE, Reed Space, Classic Kicks, Clientele, NORT/RECON, but if you head further down Orchard Street and on into China Town you’ll come across FRONT STREET.

FRONT STREET, opened a little over a year ago by Animal bike member George Kastrinakis, offers the kind of exclusive sneaks and clothing mixed with a welcoming environment and willingness to help that Dave’s Quality Meat, Reed Space & Supreme long ago forgot. Inside you’ll find select BMX parts and accessories, as well as clothing from Animal, Skavenger, Fit, Lotek, Lavar & Manmade.

The kicks selection is what you’ve come to expect, Nike, Adidas, Vans & Puma, but since the hypebeasts and tourists have yet to find FRONT STREET you’ve got a greater chance of snagging that hard to find pair of sneakers in your size.

While on location I went ahead and grabbed a pair of the Newcastle dunks, that I’ve been eyeing for a while, and a tee from Manmade Clothing. The tee reps the borough of Queens which I have a bit of a softspot for having lived there for 3 years. I really liked Manmade’s product. Well thought out designs on quality tees, the simplest formula for success. Had the “Win or Lose, We Still Booze” tee come in Purple & Gold I definitely would’ve picked up several for the tailgate crew.

Don’t sleep! As I write this FRONT STREET is already on the verge of becoming the next member of NYC’s elite.
